Cancer is one of the growing diseases in the world and in Iran, leading to severe physical and psychological changes, such as pessimism about body image and decreased cognitive flexibility in sufferers. The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of spirituality(Janbozorgi) on cognitive flexibility and body image in patients with cancer. In this study, the experimental method was a quasi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group on all cancer patients at the Maxa Center in 1403. According to the estimation of the G-Power software, the sample size was estimated to be 28 people. Using a convenient and purposeful sampling method, taking into account the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the probability of dropout, 30 people were selected by simple random sampling and placed in two groups of 15 people (experimental and control). And they answered the Dennis and Vanderwaal 2010 questionnaire, 20-item form, and the Multidimensional Body-Self Relationships Questionnaire, Cash et al. (1986 and 1987) in the pre-test and post-test phases. Participants in the experimental group received 8 90-minute sessions of spirituality therapy (Johnbozorgi), while the control group received no intervention. Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS version 28 software and analysis of covariance (p<0.05). The results of the study showed that spiritual therapy (Janbozorgi) is effective in increasing cognitive flexibility and body image in patients with cancer. Therefore, it is recommended that cancer treatment centers use spiritual therapy (Janbozorgi) along with drug therapy and other medical interventions needed to improve the health of these patients.
